Finalize the number of servings needed. Until this is determined, you
will not know what size wedding cake to order. Do not include the top tier in
you count. This is traditionally saved for the first anniversary.

The cost of the cake may vary depending on the flavor and design. A
basic cake will be relatively inexpensive, while a more intricate or larger
cake will be costly.

Discuss the sight and the season with the bakery. If you are having an
outdoor wedding in August you will want to make sure that the icing will
hold up in the summer heat.

Bring cake photos to the store to help create the cake of your dreams.

Order your cake at least four months before your wedding date to ensure
that it can be delivered in time.

Check with the bakery two weeks before your wedding date to confirm the
delivery date.
